On some mornings, I will notice doves congregating on my neighbors power line. I think they make great painting subjects.

I don’t feel like doing any work today. I have some drawings I want to work on but they sort of feel off. Some I think I need to restart.

It’s my birthday so here is a self portrait I did this morning while listening to a podcast about the ethics of algorithms and automation.

I’ve avoided painting with colors and I think this painting has made me feel less intimidated about it. I’m happy with how this came out.

One day I’ll figure out this painting painterly thing.

I made the song from an audio recording of a hike back down to the lodge. We noticed these swells coming from somewhere and it made the hike down wondrous. It was nice combining the steps, the swells, and the woods to make this short song to accompany a drawing I did later that night.

While waiting for sunset at a lookout, a couple came and sat in front of us. I liked the way it looked so I did a drawing of them. Unfortunately they left before I could finish the drawing. The next day at this beach, we ran into the couple. We introduced ourselves and learned they got engaged recently. So I gave them the drawing. The universe can be peculiar sometimes. I unfortunately do not have a picture of this drawing so here is a picture from the sunset.

I recently went to Carmel to see two friends get married and then spent some time in Big Sur with @_ashmelissa. It was nice to get away from the heat and to draw outdoors.
