I heard some buzzing behind the couch and then this fella crawled up the window. I had no mud or spiders for them so I had to take them outside.

I learned that the enzyme that pupae use to break down their cocoon is called cocoonase and I was not able to get this image out of my mind. Thanks @equis.tine for the inspirational photo that kicked this off.
